LED – Light Therapy Facial

LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive facial treatment that uses narrow band, non-thermal LED light energy to trigger your body’s natural cell processes to accelerate rejuvenation and repair of the skin as well as fighting acne-causing bacteria, plumping skin and reducing wrinkles.

It’s recommended for skin rejuvenation, sun damage, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, sensitive and inflammatory conditions, wound healing and scarring as well as anyone looking to restore skin’s radiance. LED Light Therapy is especially effective in facials to calm any areas of irritation and it’s also brilliant at brightening the skin.

Not to be confused with laser, the light therapy was originally developed by NASA to fast-track the healing of wounds and post surgery scars. The rejuvenation of healthy skin, too, was a happy coincidence.

We employ the LED Light Therapy Face Mask in many of our facial treatments, as it can assist the absorption of advanced skincare products, such as serums.

Light Therapy is good for all skin types, literally everyone, and incredible for rosacea. It is also known to be beneficial to treat:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth, eyes, and forehead
  •  Acne & Rosecea
  • Sun and age related skin damage
  • Skin inflammation
  • Pigmentation & Discolouration
  • Signs of ageing

A course of treatments offers corrective and long-lasting results, although you’ll be able to see a difference after the first session. Light therapy is also particularly calming, so you’ll leave feeling refreshed.

The skin uses the light as a source of energy to fuel the repair and rejuvenation of damaged cells, or, in the case of treating acne, kill bacteria. The energy stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, boosts circulation and accelerates tissue repair.

Red light is one the most used colours in LED therapy because it is known to improve circulation, fine lines, and wrinkles. It targets inflammation, and can help tackle acne and rosacea. Ageing and sun damaged skin can also benefit from red light.

Blue is also a popular choice for LED therapy. This hue kills bacteria, even the bacteria that lives deep in your skin that causes acne. It also leaves the good bacteria behind, and helps tighten your skin. It is often paired with red light to combat acne and heal your skin.

Amber light is known to stimulate elastin and collagen in your skin, and gives you that natural glow. If scars are an area of concern for you, amber may be the way to go.

Green light leads to a brighter complexion, and has a calming effect. Green light is the best choice if you’re looking to treat pigmentation issues, or even out skin discolouration.

Purple light provides the combined  benefits of both red & blue light. Purple Light is recommended to treat acne or deal with signs of premature ageing.

White light is relaxing and activates your skin’s natural renewal system to reverse the effects of ageing at the same time restoring a younger and healthier skin. Of all the lights, this is the most powerful, as it penetrates the deepest into your skin. White light is able to tighten your skin as its base layer and reduce inflammation. This gives your skin that smooth, healthy glow we all try so hard to achieve!

Unlike other types of light therapy, LEDs do not contain ultraviolet rays. Therefore they are safe for regular use.
